What is USDC?
USDC (USD Coin) is a stablecoin: a cryptocurrency whose value is pegged to the US dollar. While the price of Bitcoin or Ethereum can fluctuate considerably, the value of USDC remains stable.
This makes USDC ideal for online payments. You know exactly what you're paying in advance, without the value shifting between the moment of ordering and payment.

Cashback on Base: If you pay with USDC on the Base network, you can automatically receive USDC cashback on your purchase. You'll recognize this by the gift icon next to the payment option at checkout. You don't need to do anything: the cashback will be automatically transferred to your linked wallet 30 days after your purchase.
Frequently asked questions about paying with crypto
Which cryptocurrencies do you accept?
We accept USDC (USD Coin) via Shopify Payments. This is a stablecoin whose value is pegged to the US dollar, so you know exactly what you're paying beforehand.
Do you have Bitcoin, Ethereum or another cryptocurrency? Then you can exchange it for USDC at a trading platform like Coinbase or Crypto.com and pay with it at our store.
Do I pay gas fees or exchange rate fees?
No. When paying via Shopify Payments, you as a customer pay no gas fees and no exchange rate fees. Gas fees are the transaction costs that blockchain networks normally charge for processing a transaction. These are not charged to you by us.
Which wallets can I use?
Shopify supports over 480 crypto wallets, including well-known names such as Coinbase Wallet, MetaMask, and Trust Wallet. You can easily connect your wallet during checkout.

How do I get USDC?
You can buy USDC through a trading platform like Coinbase or Crypto.com. You can do this with euros or by exchanging another cryptocurrency, for example Bitcoin, for USDC.
Then you store your USDC in a wallet from the trading platform itself, or in your own wallet such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet. Make sure your balance is on a supported network.
Do I get cashback if I pay with USDC?
If you pay with USDC on the Base network, you can automatically receive cashback on your purchase. A gift icon will appear next to the payment option in the checkout when cashback is available.
You don't need to do anything yourself. The cashback will be automatically paid out in USDC to your linked wallet on Base 30 days after your purchase, up to a maximum of 100 USDC per transaction.
Can I return my order if I paid with crypto?
Yes, you have a 30-day cooling-off period, just like with any other payment method. The refund amount will be credited back in USDC.
Have you received cashback on your order? In that case, the refund amount may be capped so that the total does not exceed the original order amount. Read more about our return process on the exchanges and returns page.
Can I pay for part of my order with crypto?
No, an order paid with USDC must be settled in full at once. If you prefer to use another method or split your order, please see all our payment options or contact us.
Is paying with crypto safe?
Yes. All crypto payments at Mooier Thuis are processed via Shopify Payments, Shopify's official and certified payment platform. We do not process crypto transactions ourselves and do not store wallet data.
Your order, delivery, warranty, and right of return are exactly the same as with a payment via iDEAL or credit card.
What are the shipping costs if I pay with crypto?
This is the same as with any other payment method. Shipping is free from €75; below that, you pay €8.50 shipping costs. All prices in our webshop are in euros, including VAT.
