What you don't see is what makes this bed so practical. Both halves open separately at the foot end via visible gas springs. Under each half is a deep, independent storage space with a slatted base on a metal frame. Depending on how you stack, about 1080 liters of duvets, pillows, and seasonal items can be stored inside.
